Taveras passed away Sunday after being involved in a car accident in the Dominican Republic.
Taveras' agent Brian Mejia confirmed the tragic news Sunday evening. Details regarding the accident are still unclear, but it's a sad day for baseball.
Poor guy had a rough year. One reason I do not drive anymore is the dangerous nature of it. Too many idiots on the roads. I do not like it even when I am driven by others. Not paranoid, just aware of how risky it really is.
Baseball got some really sad news yesterday and all you have to say about it is that you are aware of the dangers of driving( and he wasn't?) and that is why you don't do it. What an idiot you are, no one cares you don't drive.

you guys have to excuse Poop and his self centered ways. he lacks the mental capacity to keep it about others. on a side note, i find it to be hilarious (and i thank God) that he is too scared to drive or be driven. locked away in his moms basement is the best place for him.

Wow. That's shocking. So sad to hear this, I really enjoyed watching him play and hoped he would become something special in baseball. R.I.P.
