Street (lat, triceps) is scheduled to make two rehab appearances with Triple-A Salt Lake Lake and could rejoin the Angels for their road trip the east coast beginning on Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 33-year-old made his first rehab appearance with High-A Inland Empire after experiencing triceps tightness during his first return attempt earlier this month. While the results weren't pretty Wednesday (three runs and two walks in a third of an inning), Street came out of the outing feeling healthy. He is scheduled to pitch an inning Friday and four outs on Monday with the Bees, which would put him on track to rejoin the majors Tuesday if all goes as planned. Even if the veteran reliever does return next week, there is no guarantee that he will slot back in as the club's closer due to Bud Norris' success in his stead (2.59 ERA and 11 saves).
