Solano signed a minor league contract with the Marlins on Monday that includes an invite to spring training, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports. Solano did manage a career-high 10 homers in 93 games with Triple-A Syracuse last season, but he hit just .251/.305/.388 for the year, raising his overall batting line at the Triple-A level to .243/.289/.346. He'll get to spend spring training with his brother, Donovan, but Solano will face a difficult battle to earn a roster spot, with Austin Barnes, J.T. Realmuto and Jeff Mathis all ahead of him on the depth chart.
