Slowey went three perfect innings with two strikeouts Sunday in his second start of the spring. Slowey is competing with David Buchanan and Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez for the final spot in the Phillies' rotation. It is possible the Phillies will have two spots open if Cliff Lee (elbow) needs to miss extended time or if Cole Hamels is traded prior to the start of the regular season.
