Slowey signed a minor league deal, which includes a spring training invite, with the Phillies on Monday, Stephen Gross of The Morning Call reports. Slowey appeared in 17 games for the Marlins last season before being released in late-June. He compiled a disappointing 5.30 ERA, allowing 22 earned runs and three homers over 37.1 cumulative innings. The 30-year-old put together three straight double-digit win seasons from 2008-10 with the Twins, but he didn't find the same success in Miami. He'll compete for a roster spot with the Phillies in spring training.
