SI.com's Jon Heyman reports that Ramon Hernandez was claimed off waivers but has been pulled back by the Reds. Heyman doesn't reveal who put in a claim for the catcher, but he was heavily linked to the Giants prior to the deadline, so the claim might have come from the D'Backs in an effort to block him from going to San Fran. Hernandez is projected to be a Type A free agent over the winter, but it's no guarantee that the Reds would offer him arbitration.
