Shields (shoulder) will throw off a mound Wednesday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

This will be Shields' first mound work since being placed on the disabled list April 16. The White Sox will be greatly interested in how Shields responds to the session as it comes one day after Dylan Covey left his start with an oblique injury.
