Shields (shoulder) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session Friday and is set for simulated game Monday, Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
After suffering a setback earlier this month, it appears Shields is well on his way to returning to regular action, but he'll likely need one or two rehab starts to build up his arm strength before resuming a rotation spot. The right-hander compiled an atrocious 6.77 ERA over 22 starts with the White Sox last season, yet allowed just three earned runs over 16.2 innings in his first three starts this year prior to landing on the DL.
