Shields allowed one run on two hits and two walks while striking out six over 5.1 innings in Tuesday's 2-1 extra-inning loss to the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
For the second straight start, Shields ran into early trouble -- Francisco Lindor took him deep in the first inning -- and he was able to overcome that trouble for a second straight start. The right-hander retired 12 consecutive batters at one point and kept his team in the game. Unfortunately, the White Sox were unable to generate much in the way of scoring opportunities, something that's dogged the offense this season. Shields is next scheduled to pitch Saturday in Minnesota.
