Sellers (Achilles) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday, Stephen J. Nesbitt of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Sellers had been hoping to earn one of the final spots on the Opening Day roster, and while an Achilles injury kept him from having any chance, it's possible the Pirates will have room by the time he's ready to return.
