Scott Hairston (oblique) will be placed on the disabled list prior to Friday's game. The severity of the injury isn't yet known, but he is slated to undergo an MRI when the team returns home to New York. Hairston, 31, is batting .235/.303/.470 with seven homers and a .773 OPS over 145 plate appearances this season.
