Schierholtz signed a minor league contract with the Rangers on Friday, which includes an invite to spring training. The Rangers are slated to go into the season with Michael Choice starting in right field, so it definitely makes sense to add a veteran corner outfielder. Schierholtz hit just .195 with seven homers and four steals in 383 plate appearances last season, so it's not surprising that he couldn't score a big league deal, but there is still a chance that he makes the team out of spring training.
