Schierholtz agreed to terms on a minor league contract with the Nationals on Wednesday. Schierholtz was was released by the Cubs last Wednesday, but will provide the Nationals with depth at outfield. He hit just .192/.240/.300 over 99 games with the Cubs this season, but the veteran has a good enough track record to be given a chance by the Nationals, albeit at the minor league level.
