Santiago (collarbone) will return to the Blue Jays on a minor league deal, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports. A leading candidate for a backup infield role at the halfway point of spring training, Santiago broke his collarbone on a diving play Mar. 15. The injury will cost Santiago at least 10 weeks, meaning an early-June return is likely a best-case scenario for the 35-year-old. While Santiago missed out on a $100,000 bonus with his release Monday, the Blue Jays will bring Santiago back and in turn pay for his rehab and afford him the chance to crack the major league roster once healthy.
