Roy Halladay gave up a pair of solo homers over seven innings Friday in an 8-2 rain-shortened win over the Cardinals. The game was called in the seventh inning. The home runs by Carlos Beltran and Matt Holliday were the only hits Halladay gave up on the night. He struck out six and walked two in the victory and retired 14 batters in a row at one point. Halladay also showed improved velocity with his fastball, hitting 92 mph in his final inning of work. With back-to-back strong starts under his belt, he'll hope to carry the momentum into a favorable outing against the Pirates next Wednesday.
