Rodriguez went 1-for-4 with an RBI double during Friday's 6-3 win over the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
In what's expected to be the final game of his MLB career, Rodriguez was able to at least end a tumultuous season on a relative high note, as the two-bagger marked his first extra-base hit since June 5. Though Rodriguez had previously served as the designated hitter throughout this season, manager Joe Girardi allowed the three-time MVP to come out for the ninth inning at third base, the position he had manned for much of his 13-year tenure with the Yankees. Rodriguez is expected to be formally released by the Yankees on Saturday as the team aims to clear up a roster spot for one of their top prospects in Aaron Judge, but the 41-year-old will still stick around with the organization in an advisory capacity through the end of 2017.
