Robinson (shoulder) signed a minor-league contract with the Nationals on Friday, MLB.com's William Ladson reports. The deal doesn't include an invite to MLB spring training, which is likely a byproduct of Robinson being sidelined for all of the past season following shoulder surgery. Prior to suffering that setback, Robinson had spent most of 2013 season with the Reds, functioning as a reserve outfielder for the big club. He'll need to show he's fully recovered from the shoulder procedure in the minors before he has a reasonable shot at earning a fourth or fifth outfielder job for a Nationals squad that isn't lacking in depth at that position.
