Cahill (calf) has resumed playing catch off flat ground, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Cahill resumed running at the end of June, but he had been shut down from throwing for approximately three weeks. The right-hander is on the 60-day injured list and will be sidelined until at least mid-August as a result, and he'll require some time to build back up following his shutdown.
