Tomlin (neck) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday.

EDGE Analysis

Tomlin has been on the injured list with a neck strain since Aug. 31. Given the length of his absence, the club will likely want him to get two or three outings in with Gwinnett before rejoining the major-league roster. With that in mind, he could be activated at some point toward the end of next week.
