Reed, who has served as Jeurys Familia's set-up man all season, has the 7th-lowest ERA (2.16) and the 7th-lowest batting average against (.189) among major-league relievers.
EDGE Analysis
Reed's turnaround came May 15 of last season when he was moved from the third-base to first-base side of the rubber. Last year after the change, he posted 41:15 K:BB over 46 innings while holding opposing hitters to a .244/.304/.369 line and just two home runs. Reed has been even better this year and will continue to used heavily by manager Terry Collins the last two-plus months of the season.
