Red Sox signed INF Ryan Roberts to a one-year contract. Roberts gives Boston depth at third base while Will Middlebrooks nurses a calf strain. Roberts was released by the Cubs at the end of spring training and is not a good fantasy bet, even if he works his way into regular playing time. The 33-year-old is a .245/.321/.392 career hitter in 510 major league games.
