Rays released RHP Heath Bell. Bell had been designated for assignment a week ago and obviously had no problem clearing waivers considering his contract. Given that he can be signed for the veteran minimum now, he won't have trouble finding a job in spite of a 4.91 ERA since the beginning of the 2012 season.
