Rays designated LHP Erik Bedard for assignment. Bedard registered a 4.76 ERA and 1.49 WHIP in 15 starts and two relief appearances for Tampa Bay. The 35-year-old southpaw was dumped Monday to open up a roster spot for Joel Peralta, who was activated from the disabled list in a corresponding roster move.
