Rangers purchased the contract of 1B Carlos Pena from Triple-A Round Rock. Brad Snyder didn't work out as an everyday first baseman, so the Rangers will give Pena a shot. He batted just .207/.321/.346 in 89 games last season between the Astros and Royals and turned 36 years old in May. But those in AL-only leagues may want to take a flier on him. Pena is batting sixth for Texas on Tuesday night.
