Ramon Hernandez (hand) is expected to begin a minor league rehab assignment at some point next week. Hernandez hit a round of soft toss and caught thrown balls on Thursday afternoon for the first time since getting a cortisone shot earlier this month in his injured left hand. On the shelf since May 24, the veteran catcher should be activated shortly after the All-Star break.
