Quentin officially announced his retirement Friday, MLB.com reports. "Over the past several days, it became clear to me that my injuries have taken too great of a physical toll for me to be able to perform at the level I expect from myself," Quentin said in a press release. Knee issues plagued the final couple years of Quentin's career, limiting him to 82 games in 2013 and 50 in 2014. The two-time All-Star, who compiled a .252/.347/.484 batting line with 154 home runs in 834 games, will be released from his minor league deal with Seattle.
