Punto will not be at Diamondbacks camp and won't play this season, Jody Jackson of Fox Sports Arizona reports. While Punto hasn't retired, the fact that he won't play this season could eventually lead to a decision to retire. He is now 36 years of age and coming off the worst season of his career, batting .207/.296/.589 with two home runs and 14 RBI over 73 games. The utility infielder debuted in the majors in 2001, and appears to be nearing the end of his rope.
