Punto, on the disabled list since Aug. 3 due to a strained right hamstring, was activated Tuesday. Punto is more of a depth player at a few positions who gives manager Bob Melvin a switch-hitting option when needed, but without a starting spot (not to mention his .579 OPS this season) his production will probably be limited with such little time left in the regular season.
