Chatwood (1-3) surrendered five runs (three earned) on five hits with four strikeouts in two innings, taking the extra-innings loss versus the Mets on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
After Anthony DeSclafani left Wednesday's game with an ankle injury, San Francisco was forced to deploy eight other pitchers. Chatwood was tasked with the 11th and 12th innings. He got away with allowing a run in his first inning of work, but Kevin Pillar took him deep for a three-run home run and Chance Sisco added an RBI double that proved enough to spoil Chatwood's Giants debut. The right-hander has an ugly 6.00 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 36:20 K:BB across 30 innings this season, and he's unlikely to see more than low-leverage work with his new team.
