Phelps (elbow) played catch for the first time Monday since undergoing Tommy John surgery, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Phelps had Tommy John surgery in March of 2018, but he's ready to resume throwing once again. He still has a long way to go until he can return to action, so he figures to remain on the shelf until at least May of 2019.
