Peralta (thumb) will take over as the regular shortstop when he returns from the DL on Tuesday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

With Aledmys Diaz heading to the disabled list with a thumb fracture, Peralta will have an opportunity to return to his old position after switching to third base this season. The veteran has a lowly .258 OBP in just 30 games, but will certainly see opportunities to improve that as he returns to the starting lineup.
