Peralta (thumb) will start at third base for Tuesday's game against the Reds, Jim Hayes of Fox Sports Midwest reports.

Although the Cardinals haven't officially activated Peralta yet, Hayes is reporting that he will be rejoining the lineup Tuesday in the fifth spot and sliding over to play third base. Peralta's return will allow Matt Carpenter to take over at second while the surprising Aledmys Diaz remains at shortstop.
