Peralta (illness) was activated off the 10-day disabled list Friday, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.

An upper respiratory infection has kept Peralta on the shelf since mid-April, but after turning in a successful rehab assignment, he's ready to return to the Cardinals. St. Louis optioned outfield prospect Magneuris Sierra in a corresponding move Friday. Despite being activated, Peralta will have to wait until Saturday to make his return to the lineup.
