Pena was released from his Triple-A contract Monday, Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish reports. Pena struggled with the Rangers in 18 games, batting just .136 with the club. The 36-year-old first baseman hit better at the minor league level, however, batting .297/.350/.500 at the level over 20 games, but it wasn't enough for the Rangers to stick with him.
