Chirinos was released by the Yankees on Sunday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Chirinos was away from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for a couple weeks in June to play with the Venezuelan national team, and he's now heading to free agency. He appeared in 13 games at Triple-A and slashed .278/.422/.566 with three homers in 13 games.
