Parker (elbow) has a lateral elbow impingement that caused him to cut his throwing session short Thursday, reports Jane Lee of MLB.com.
EDGE Analysis
This setback is obviously really bad news for Parker and the A's, but the good news from the medical staff is that the impingement is on the opposite side of the elbow from his prior surgeries. Parker will get an MRI Thursday, but the A's medical staff expressed confidence that he would pitch again. There will be more information on a possible timeline after his MRI.
