Orioles designated INF Alex Liddi for assignment. Liddi was acquired from the Mariners in early July, but the O's needed to clear a spot on the 40-man roster to they'll risk putting him through waivers. The 24-year-old hit .245/.299/.421 with 15 homers, 65 RBI and 11 stolen bases between two organizations at the Triple-A level this season. He's talented enough that another team may be willing to take a chance on him.
