O'Flaherty signed a minor league contract with the Pirates on Thursday that includes an invitation to spring training, Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports reports.

O'Flaherty had a rough season last year with an 8.10 ERA in 30 innings pitched, but from 2010 to 2014, the left-hander was one of the better southpaws in baseball. There aren't a lot of lefties beyond Tony Watson in the Pirates bullpen at the moment, so he stands a good chance of getting a bullpen spot if he can return to his dominant form from when he was with Atlanta.
