Nix was activated to the Royals' active roster Saturday. The Royals had to activate Nix or else their waiver claim of him from the Pirates would be negated. Christian Colon was optioned to Double-A Northwest Arkansas in a corresponding move. Nix may very well see a start or two at second base this weekend with Omar Infante (shoulder) ailing, but he's hit just .133/.188/.173 in 82 plate appearances at the major league level this season.
