Nathan (elbow) is eligible to return from the disabled list July 16, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nathan has been pitching at Double-A Tennessee while rehabbing his elbow. Thus far, he's pitched 5.2 innings across six games, during which he's allowed two runs and struck out six batters. While his official return date has yet to be set, Cubs' Manager, Joe Maddon, has indicated that Nathan's performance at Tennessee is encouraging the team to believe the 41-year-old righty will be a solid contributor when he eventually returns.
