Greene recorded the save in Wednesday's 5-3 extra-innings victory over the Padres after tossing a perfect frame while striking out two in the process.
EDGE Analysis
Greene was called upon in the 16th inning to preserve a two-run cushion as the Dodgers' last remaining reliever available. The 32-year-old was able to get Eric Hosmer and Tommy Pham to go down swinging before including a groundout from Adam Frazier to finally end the game. Greene turned in a much better performance Wednesday after a shaky outing in his Dodgers debut, and overall he's struggled to an 8.84 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and 19:10 K:BB over 18.1 innings this season. The right-hander was an All-Star as recently as 2019, so the Dodgers are hoping he can turn things around and help contribute toward another championship run.
