Montero (hamstring) was placed on the disabled list Friday, retroactive to June 8.

Montero recently returned from serving a 50-game suspension after testing positive for a banned substance, and will now hit the DL after suffering a right hamstring injury. He has only appeared in five games this season for Triple-A Norfolk, going 4-for-18 with two RBI and two walks. Montero is unlikely to join Baltimore at any poit this season due to their plethora of first basemen, but his first concern is just getting back on the field.
