Mike Adams (shoulder) hopes to begin throwing off a mound during the first week of August. Adams, who's been out since June 7 with fraying in his right shoulder labrum, was recently transferred to the 60-day disabled list. The right-hander could return in late August if he's able to avoid setbacks, but he admitted to reporters Sunday that he won't be 100 percent.
