Mijares was suspended 50 games for using a drug of abuse, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Mijares is currently a free agent after being released by the Reds last week and has not appeared in a major league game since 2013. The suspension will likely hinder the 30-year-old's ability to land a spot on a big league roster somewhere but he should be able to find a spot in some facility as a minor leaguer.
