Middlebrooks was told by the Brewers on Sunday that he won't make the team's Opening Day roster, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

As a non-roster invitee to spring training, Middlebrooks will have to decide if he wants to remain with the organization and report to Triple-A Colorado Springs or pursue an opportunity with a different club.
