The Rangers will reward Middlebrooks for his strong season with Triple-A Round Rock, and it's possible he will see some chances in the immediate future with Adrian Beltre nursing a hamstring strain. Middlebrooks generated a lot of buzz after hitting 15 homers in 75 games with the Red Sox as a 23-year-old in 2012, but it was only a matter of time before his contact woes and lack of patience were exploited by big-league hurlers.
