Miami Marlins starting pitcher Jose Fernandez was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday because of a strained biceps, according to the Palm Beach Post. Fernandez was forced to leave his last start after just 76 pitches because of shoulder tightness was diagnosed with the biceps strain after further evaluation. The 23-year-old was just seven starts removed from returning from Tommy John surgery and will find himself back on the disabled list until at least Aug. 25. "During the game that fourth inning I threw a lot of pitches," Fernandez said. "My arm got a little tired, but I went out and pitched the fifth and obviously it wasn't the same. I was dragging my arm looking at the video. Decided to take me out of the game. Right about that night four to five hours later it started getting tight. Thank God it wasn't a big deal. Everything happens for a reason. That's the way that I take things. He's trying to teach me a lesson. Everything in life happens for a reason. That's how I take my life. As long as I'm healthy, I'm coming back."
