Mets sent RHP Kyle Farnsworth outright to Triple-A Las Vegas. Farnsworth told reporters Wednesday that he is "very bitter" about the move, and the veteran right-hander is fully expected to refuse the outright assignment and become a free agent. He had been serving as the Mets' closer as recently as Monday and owns a cool 3.18 ERA in 19 total appearances this year. The Mets cut him to avoid a cash payout related to a 45-day consent waiver.
