Boston Red Sox utility player Marwin Gonzalez was released by the Red Sox on Monday, according to Julian McWilliams of the Boston Globe. Gonzalez really hasn't done much in terms of fantasy value this season, slashing .202/.281/.285 with two homers, three steals, 20 RBI and 25 runs scored over 77 games. If he wasn't already on the waiver wire, he can safely be dropped now.
