Marlins signed INF Greg Dobbs to a one-year, $1.7 million contract extension. Word of the agreement was first reported by Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. Dobbs, 35, is hitting just .229 with a brutal .605 OPS in 266 plate appearances this season and doesn't play great defense. It's not a deal that carries much risk, but $1.7 million is probably still an overpay.
